The College of Education and Human Development, with the support from the UMass Boston Alumni Association and the Joseph P. Healey Library, presents this free event featuring National Book Award-winning author Jonathan Kozol.

A poster session from 1-3 will highlight faculty and student projects that have positive impacts in our professional and local Author Jonathan Kozolcommunities. The poster session will be followed at 4 by Kozol’s keynote address and a book signing.

Jonathan Kozol has been working with children in inner-city schools for nearly 50 years. Kozol, who has examined the inequality inflicted upon children born into poverty in a wealthy nation, has been called “today’s most eloquent spokesman for America’s disenfranchised.” Following the address, Kozol will answer questions and sign copies of his most recent book, Fire in the Ashes.

For disability-related accommodations, including dietary accommodations, please visit www.ada.umb.edu two weeks prior to the event.
