All 79 sites of the Boston Summer Learning Community receive a Program Report for Improvement & System Measurement (PRISM) in the fall. The PRISM shows a program’s specific results across all measurement tools and compares them to the summer cohort as a whole.
This integrated approach to program quality measurement enables program providers to jointly highlight strengths, identify weaknesses, and pursue continuous improvement. Representatives from each site gather regularly to discuss best practices identified through shared data to improve their programs for the ensuing summer. Based on these data, BASB and our research partners design and implement year-round trainings for program staff around the goal of supporting improvement in these domains.
