Neighborhood networks launch public websites

June 2009

Four neighborhood-based networks of youth serving organizations, supported under the banner of the Teen Initiative, launched public web sites this summer, a victory for their collaborative efforts. Based on a common technological framework and shared database of youth records, these sites improve the ability of youth workers to serve teens across multiple programs and organizations. They also enable the public to refer youth into a neighborhood network and provide a platform for closer collaboration with the Boston Public Schools and other partners. These technically innovative websites represent months of work in coming to agreement on networks public identities and common data and privacy standards.
