After School Programs

What makes ACE Greater Boston special is that you don’t just learn about architecture, construction and engineering—you experience them. You work alongside industry professionals, visit real job sites and offices, and collaborate with students from across Greater Boston on a real-world project. Along the way, you build confidence, learn to present and problem-solve, make new friends, and start building a professional network—all while exploring what you might want your future to look like. Students choose one of seven sites and meet just once a week from October through March. Graduating seniors may also be eligible for ACE Greater Boston scholarships to help support their next step.

Students will be able to achieve their goals through our SEL focus enrichment courses, which will include creative arts, fitness/wellness and also field trips through out the community. Our students are also set to have college students from 4boston (Boston College) organization to tutor them and provide homework support to ensure their academic success.

At this program, students will have the chance to be supported with their out of school work by local high school and college students in a safe learning environment. They will also engage in various enrichment activities such as arts & crafts, karate, yoga, cooking, science experiments and sports.

This school year our focus will be to write, direct and create a full production film. At ART Heals, youth will engage in various workshops including: Creative writing Challenging discussions Theater workshops Dance workshops Fabric Workshops Painting Drawing Film Making Vision Board Workshops Video Creation DEI Training Sneaker Design Clothing Design Podcasting Photography Workshops

At this program, students will have the chance to explore who they are, create meaningful projects, work with mentors and peers, and use art, technology, and design thinking to solve real-world challenges. They will build portfolios, practice presenting their ideas, and connect their creativity to future education, career, and leadership opportunities.

At Artists for Humanity, teens have the chance to harnesses the power of art, mentorship and paid professional experiences to inspire teens to build their future. AFH has four mission-driven objectives, to offer youth: (1) the responsibility of paid employment in art and design that positions teens as respected colleagues, developing self-esteem, workforce readiness, and financial accountability; (2) meaningful relationships with artistic mentors from their own communities; (3) an opportunity to be part of a creative community where youth are mentored to express themselves through diverse media, exhibitions and commissions; and (4) tutoring, college readiness and alumni support to encourage success in high school, college and beyond.

Through A-VOYCE, youth will have the chance to be equity-centered designers, shaping their community for the community, by the community. They will develop skills in empathy, self-efficacy, sense of belonging, project management, and public speaking. Unlike most youth programs, A-VOYCE not only provides life-changing leadership, gain urban planning and design-thinking skills, and soft skill development for high school-aged youth, it’s also a unique platform for young people to mobilize and tangibly address community issues. A-VOYCE youth take their advocacy beyond social media by applying real-world solutions to the community’s issues, such as increasing pedestrian safety and combatting the adverse effects of gentrification.

They will receive high-quality, consistent dance instruction in a welcoming and inclusive environment, while exploring their individual strengths and creative voices. Students will set goals, work through challenges, and experience the pride and joy that come from mastering new skills and performing for an audience. They will learn not only from their teachers, but from and with one another, building confidence, connection, and a lasting love of dance.

At this program, students will have the chance to learn from and work with adult professionals who look like them and share thei experience. This will allow us the ability to meet them where they are and help them to become responsible learners.

Beantown Slam uses sports-based youth development programming to engage students and retains them with a youth-led and youth-centered approach. The students have a voice in the topics for discussion and identify new experiences they want to explore. The sense of agency contributes to students’ participation and staff work hard to keep programs relevant and exciting.

At BTO, students will be part of a community truly built with and for them. We listen to our young people and continuously shape our program around what they tell us they need. Our staff provide authentic mentorship because many come from similar communities and backgrounds and can relate to the experiences our youth face. We care about the whole person, not just their creative talents, and support young people through challenges so they can focus on themselves, their dreams, and their future. Most importantly, our youth tell us BTO feels like home, a place where they feel safe, loved, supported, understood, and free to be themselves.

No other program in the country combines M.A.T. TIME’s social-emotional development, trauma-informed mentor coaching, and restorative justice practices with wrestling to engage and evolve youth. Our programming transforms the traditional coaching philosophy with an approach centered on personal and communal growth and youth development through wrestling. Mentor-Coaches help foster self-awareness, leadership, and integrity in young athletes, allowing them to reach their full potential. Wrestling is just the tool we use to help engage and showcase development in our young adults.

Youth who learn by doing, and who thrive in hands-on, experiential environments, are often left behind in traditional educational settings. Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) provides practical work experience, helping youth of all backgrounds and aptitudes develop critical skills and relationships that pave the way for economic success — a key predictor of long-term social, emotional, and physical well-being. BNB Youth Apprentices master technical skills in bicycle mechanics, build leadership experience, develop effective work habits, and establish long-term goals.Youth also develop and complete a plan for post-secondary training, education, or employment.
