be paid as a young professional while learning on the job, building relationships with mentors and peers, understanding that their many talents are in fact skills that have a name and belong on a resume, and seeing first-hand how many viable pathways there are to a career in the arts, culture, and media sectors. Our commitment to learner-centered instruction and uplifting the voices of youth is a particularly innovative and distinctive component of our model which we believe embodies community-led work: instead of dictating rigid, inflexible models, we provide the support young people need to see their own ideas succeed. Rather than impose curricula, we take care to support young people?s goals and interests. This learner centered program is unusual to do well, and requires exceptional planning and thought. The result is something that is rigorous and relevant and puts young people on a path to see how their talents are in fact skills that have a name. It ensures young people are producing projects that center themselves and their families. In the overall design and monitoring, as you see below, we partner with community-based organizations who are well positioned to collaborate with families and neighborhoods.
