Boston Explorers – Boston Explorers Summer Camp

Program Details

BE?s mission is to help children develop a sense of mastery and autonomy, along with a sense of wonder about the world around them. We model a broader literacy- of geography and nature; of neighborhoods, history, and culture-and opportunities for campers to fuel their curiosity, inspire one another, and foster citizenship. We intentionally focus on opportunities that contribute to the development of positive youth outcomes while including youth choice and voice. We solicit their feedback and give them opportunities to decide on and take command of camp expeditions, guided by their enthusiasm and imagination. Whatever neighborhood they come from, by the end of the week, kids feel that the entirety of Boston is their city.

Boston Plan for Excellence – Summer Learning at Dearborn STEM Academy

Program Details

Dearborn STEM Academy?s 2024 Credit Recovery Summer program for grades 6-12 is critical for our traditionally marginalized students performing below grade level who cannot otherwise access summer academic programming, and who seek to graduate on time with their peers. Dearborn STEM Academy?s teachers and paraprofessional staff will support students that lack the credits needed to graduate. This program will be open to all under-credited students from grades 6-12, as well as to students in grades 6-12 attending nearby BPS schools. Students entering 6th grade in the fall will join older grade levels in participating in summer academic enrichment at the Dearborn STEM Academy; this will help students prepare for the fall.
