City Summer Internship is a paid career exploration program for Boston girls entering ninth grade where interns explore careers in Boston’s economic engine neighborhoods and learn to earn. Interns will earn stipends of up to $270 per week for completing program hours and requirements.
Apprentice Learning elected to work specifically with girls during the summer months to deepen their skills, build a positive peer network, and broaden their exposure to opportunities within their immediate environs. Taking a strengths-based approach, our paid internship provides 14-15 year-old girls from low-income neighborhoods an opportunity to ?learn to earn.? Like our apprenticeship program during the school year, CSI is able to build deeper relationships with interns, fostering a link between positive self-esteem and improved educational outcomes.
