CitySprouts programs for middle schoolers are based at our school gardens. Young participants take an inquiry based approach to learn more about the community around them, and they have a voice in how their 5-week experience is shaped. The garden will be the place where youth meet and make friends. This year we will be meeting in person where youth will have a chance to learn how to take care of a garden as well as participate in activities related to botany, food systems, renewable energy, and climate change. They will go on walking field trips related to our four focus areas where they explore their local neighborhood community spaces and meet community leaders and business owners that contribute to the vitality of our city.
