In line with the guidelines of the 2022 5th Quarter Portfolio, our theory of change achieves success and positively impacts our target Latin@ and English learner youth by 1) stemming summer learning loss and increasing academic achievement, and 2) developing student social-emotional skills and increasing student efficacy by building skills and competencies. Our model also accelerates academic language development and English language proficiency amongst English learners.
The STEAM program integrates the arts into the traditional STEM disciplines of science, technology, engineering arts and math through experiential learning. It has been designated as a 21st Century Community Learning Center by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary & Secondary Education and is a community-based partner for the BoSTEM initiative.
