By participating in the Teen Urban Tree Corps, students will be able to take concrete action toward building climate resilience and healthier communities in Boston. Urban trees are increasingly recognized for their capacity to help build stronger, more resilient, and healthier communities by removing air pollutants, reducing energy usage, filtering stormwater, sequestering carbon, cooling hot city streets, improving residents? physical and mental health, and more. Teen Urban Tree Corps participants will help support the growth of the tree canopy in Boston through hands-on tree care activities. They will also learn about urban forestry and develop leadership skills, building their capacity to be advocates for tree equity and environmental justice.
