UMass Boston – Talent Search/Project REACH

In addition to providing students with academic courses, and to support the enrichment component of our program, students will work on developing critical skills such as leadership, teamwork, self-regulation and advocacy. Students will have opportunities to select from a number of offered activities giving them voice and choice in their experience and to engage in active and collaborative learning. Some enrichment opportunities are mentoring, dance, art and art as self-care; and clubs (young women group, game, young men, harbor walk and photography, etc.). As we are a college prep program, students will also learn about college and career planning and hear from diverse guest speakers who are professionals in their field and who will share their stories. We also take students on field trip excursions to explore and learn about the city of Boston and the harbor islands.
