Mayor Walsh and Superintendent Chang Announce Significant Expansion of BoSTEM Initiative
On Thursday January 18th, Mayor Martin J. Walsh and Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang joined leaders of United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley, Boston After School & Beyond, and eight community-based STEM education programs at the Mario Umana K-8 Academy to announce a new grant that will significantly expand the BoSTEM initiative to reach up to 10,000 students over the next five years.
